Our church was planted in 1972 by Rev. Calvin Chambers in New Westminster, BC. He named this new church after the Westminster Confession of Faith, which affirms both the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ. It was Rev. Chambers hope that Westminster Fellowship would be led by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Scriptures rather than the edicts of men.
Raised up under Rev. Chambers, Bruce McDonald was annointed as Pastor in 1975 and remains as Head Pastor to this day. Pastor McDonald has been a dedicated Bible teacher, preacher and counselor for over forty-five years. Pastor McDonald has worked tirelessly to fulfill the original vision for Westminster Fellowship, and make the Lord Jesus, His Holy Spirit and the Word of God the centre of all things to the church.
Westminster Fellowship is made up of faithful and dedicated members and contributes to local outreach programs, our community hospitals and the Christian community at-large.
Romans 15: 4-6 (NASB)
"For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." |
